நீர் என்னை உமது இருதயத்தின்மேல் முத்திரையைப்போலவும், உமது புயத்தின்மேல் முத்திரையைப்போலவும் வைத்துக்கொள்ளும்; நேசம் மரணத்தைப்போல் வலிமையானது; நேசவைராக்கியம் பாதாளத்தைப்போல் கொடியதாக இருக்கிறது; அதின் தழல் அக்கினித்தழலும் அதின் சுடர் கடும் சுடரொளியுமாக இருக்கிறது.

¶ Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death; jealousy is cruel as the grave: the coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame.
