Mets-moi comme un sceau sur ton cœur, Comme un sceau sur ton bras; Car l’amour est fort comme la mort, La jalousie est inflexible comme le séjour des morts; Ses ardeurs sont des ardeurs de feu, Une flamme de l’Éternel.

¶ Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death; jealousy is cruel as the grave: the coals thereof are coals of fire, which hath a most vehement flame.
