ชายคนนั้นชื่อเอลีเมเลค ภรรยาชื่อนาโอมี ​บุ​ตรชายสองคนชื่อมารห์โลนและคิลิ​โอน​ เป็นชาวเอฟราธาห์ มาจากเมืองเบธเลเฮมในยูดาห์ เขาทั้งหลายเดินทางเข้าไปในแผ่นดินโมอับและอาศัยอยู่​ที่นั่น​
