​แต่​​รู​ธตอบว่า “ขอแม่อย่าวิงวอนให้ฉันจากแม่หรือเลิกติดตามแม่ไปเลย เพราะแม่จะไปไหนฉันจะไปด้วย และแม่จะอาศัยอยู่​ที่​ไหนฉั​นก​็จะอยู่​ที่​นั่นด้วย ​ญาติ​ของแม่จะเป็นญาติของฉัน และพระเจ้าของแม่​ก็​จะเป็นพระเจ้าของฉัน

And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God:
