De är israeliter, de har: barnaskapet [Gud kallar Israel sin förstfödde son, se 2 Mos 4:22] och härligheten (Guds närvaro) [Gud ledde dem genom öknen med eldstoden och molnstoden, se 2 Mos 13:21] och förbunden [till Abraham, 1 Mos 15:18, och till folket 2 Mos 19:5] och givandet av undervisningen (”laggivningen” – gr. nomothesia) [Syftar både på Moseböckerna (Torah) och på händelserna på Sinai berg.] och tempelgudstjänsten [Heb 9:1] och löftena [om beskydd, fred och välgång].
