นครนั้นได้เย่อหยิ่งจองหองและมี​ชี​วิตอย่างหรูหรามากเท่าใด ​ก็​จงให้นครนั้นได้รับการทรมานและความระทมทุกข์มากเท่านั้น เพราะว่านครนั้นทะนงใจว่า ‘เราดำรงอยู่ในตำแหน่งราชินี ​ไม่ใช่​หญิ​งม​่าย เราจะไม่ประสบความระทมทุกข์​เลย​’

How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.
