Openbaring 17:8

Het beest dat je zag, was er en is er nu niet; het zal binnenkort uit de afgrond komen en ten onder gaan. De bewoners van de aarde, zij van wie de naam niet al vanaf de schepping van de wereld in het boek van het leven staat, zullen zich verbazen wanneer ze het beest zien dat er was, dat er nu niet is en dat zal terugkomen.

The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
