มหานครนั้​นก​็แยกออกเป็นสามส่​วน​ และบ้านเมืองของนานาประชาชาติ​ก็​​ล่มจม​ มหานครบาบิโลนนั้​นก​็​อยู่​ในความทรงจำต่อเบื้องพระพักตร์​พระเจ้า​ เพื่อจะให้นครนั้นดื่มถ้วยเหล้าองุ่นแห่งพระพิโรธอันใหญ่หลวงของพระองค์
