అప్పుడు మొదటి దూత బయటకు వచ్చి తన పాత్రను భూమి మీద కుమ్మరించాడు. అప్పుడు ఆ క్రూరమృగానికి చెందిన ముద్ర వేసుకున్న వారికీ, వాడి ప్రతిమను పూజించే వారికీ ఒంటిపై బాధాకరమైన వికారమైన కురుపులు పుట్టాయి.

And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image.
