ఎవరినైనా పొరబాటున చంపిన వాడు వాటిలోకి పారిపోయేలా ఆ ఆరు పట్టణాలు ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు, పరదేశులకు, మీ మధ్య నివసించే ఎవరికైనా ఆశ్రయంగా ఉంటాయి.

These six cities shall be a refuge, both for the children of Israel, and for the stranger, and for the sojourner among them: that every one that killeth any person unawares may flee thither.
