Maar Israel sloeg hem met de scherpte des zwaards, en nam zijn land in erfelijke bezitting, van de Arnon af tot de Jabbok toe, tot aan de kinderen Ammons; want de landpale der kinderen Ammons was vast.

And Israel smote him with the edge of the sword, and possessed his land from Arnon unto Jabbok, even unto the children of Ammon: for the border of the children of Ammon was strong.
