ആകയാൽ ജനം മോശെയുടെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു; ഞങ്ങൾ യഹോവെക്കും നിനക്കും വിരോധമായി സംസാരിച്ചതിനാൽ പാപം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു. സർപ്പങ്ങളെ ഞങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽനിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളവാൻ യഹോവയോടു പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; മോശെ ജനത്തിന്നുവേണ്ടി പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചു.

¶ Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD, and against thee; pray unto the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people.
