NUMERI 21:23

Ma Sihon non concedette a Israele di passar per li suoi confini; anzi adunò tutta la sua gente, e uscì fuori incontro a Israle, nel deserto; e venne in Iaas, e combattè con Israele.

And Sihon would not suffer Israel to pass through his border: but Sihon gathered all his people together, and went out against Israel into the wilderness: and he came to Jahaz, and fought against Israel.
