યહોવાહે ઇઝરાયલીઓની વિનંતી સાંભળીને તેઓને કનાનીઓ ઉપર વિજય અપાવ્યો. તેઓએ તેઓનો અને તેઓના નગરોનો સંપૂર્ણપણે નાશ કર્યો. અને તે જગ્યાનું નામ હોર્માહ પડ્યું.

And the LORD hearkened to the voice of Israel, and delivered up the Canaanites; and they utterly destroyed them and their cities: and he called the name of the place Hormah.
