ข้าแต่พระเจ้าของข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลาย ซึ่งเป็นพระเจ้าใหญ่ยิ่ง ทรงฤทธิ์และน่าเกรงกลัว ผู้ทรงรักษาพันธสัญญาและความเมตตา ฉะนั้นบัดนี้ขอพระองค์อย่าทรงเห็นว่าความทุกข์ยากลำบากทั้งสิ้นนั้นเป็นแต่สิ่งเล็กน้อยซึ่งบังเกิดขึ้นกับข้าพระองค์ทั้งหลาย กับบรรดากษัตริย์ของข้าพระองค์ กับบรรดาเจ้านาย บรรดาปุโรหิต บรรดาผู้พยากรณ์ บรรพบุรุษ และชนชาติของพระองค์ทั้งสิ้น ตั้งแต่สมัยกษัตริย์อัสซีเรีย จนถึงวันนี้
Now therefore, our God, the great, the mighty, and the terrible God, who keepest covenant and mercy, let not all the trouble seem little before thee, that hath come upon us, on our kings, on our princes, and on our priests, and on our prophets, and on our fathers, and on all thy people, since the time of the kings of Assyria unto this day.
