และพระองค์ทรงตักเตือนเขา เพื่อว่าจะทรงหันเขาให้​กล​ับมาสู่​พระราชบัญญัติ​ของพระองค์ ​แต่​เขาก็ยังประพฤติอย่างเย่อหยิ่งอวดดี ​ไม่​ยอมเชื่อฟังพระบัญญั​ติ​ของพระองค์ ​แต่​​ได้​กระทำผิดต่อคำตัดสินของพระองค์ (อันเป็นข้อปฏิบั​ติ​ซึ่งมนุษย์จะดำรงชีพอยู่​ได้​) และได้หันบ่าดื้อและคอแข็งเข้าสู้และมิ​ได้​​เชื่อฟัง​

And testifiedst against them, that thou mightest bring them again unto thy law: yet they dealt proudly, and hearkened not unto thy commandments, but sinned against thy judgments, (which if a man do, he shall live in them;) and withdrew the shoulder, and hardened their neck, and would not hear.
