இவனைக் கொல்லுவதற்காக அந்த ஆவி அடிக்கடி தீயிலும் தண்ணீரிலும் தள்ளியது. நீர் ஏதாவது செய்யமுடியுமானால், எங்கள்மேல் மனமிறங்கி, எங்களுக்கு உதவிசெய்யவேண்டும் என்றான்.

And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help us.
