พวกฟาริ​สี​กับพวกธรรมาจารย์จึงทูลถามพระองค์​ว่า​ “ทำไมพวกสาวกของท่านไม่ดำเนินชีวิตตามประเพณีสืบทอดมาจากบรรพบุรุษ ​แต่​รับประทานอาหารโดยมิ​ได้​ล้างมือเสี​ยก​่อน”

Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?
