โยเซฟเป็นชาวบ้านอาริมาเธีย ซึ่งอยู่ในพวกสมาชิกสภาและเป็​นที​่นับถือของคนทั้งปวง ทั้งกำลังคอยท่าอาณาจักรของพระเจ้าด้วย จึงกล้าเข้าไปหาปีลาตขอพระศพพระเยซู

Joseph of Arimathaea, an honourable counsellor, which also waited for the kingdom of God, came, and went in boldly unto Pilate, and craved the body of Jesus.
