​แต่​เปโตรทูลแข็งแรงทีเดียวว่า “​ถึงแม้​ข้าพระองค์จะต้องตายกับพระองค์ ข้าพระองค์​ก็​จะไม่ปฏิเสธพระองค์​เลย​” ​เหล่​าสาวกก็ทูลเช่นนั้นเหมือนกันทุกคน
