இயேசு அவனைப் பார்த்து: இன்றைக்கு, இந்த இராத்திரியிலே, சேவல் இரண்டுமுறை கூவுகிறதற்கு முன்பு, நீ மூன்றுமுறை என்னை மறுதலிப்பாய் என்று உண்மையாகவே உனக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றார்.

And Jesus saith unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this day, even in this night, before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice.
