அப்பொழுது, இயேசு அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: மேய்ப்பனை வெட்டுவேன், ஆடுகள் சிதறடிக்கப்படும், என்று எழுதியிருக்கிறபடி, இந்த இராத்திரியிலே நீங்களெல்லோரும் என்னால் இடறல் அடைவீர்கள்.

And Jesus saith unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered.
