இதோ, எருசலேமுக்குப் போகிறோம்; அங்கே மனிதகுமாரன் பிரதான ஆசாரியர்களிடத்திலும் வேதபண்டிதரிடத்திலும் ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கப்படுவார்; அவர்கள் அவரை மரணதண்டனைக்குள்ளாகத் தீர்த்து, யூதரல்லாதோர்களிடத்தில் ஒப்புக்கொடுப்பார்கள்.

Saying, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests, and unto the scribes; and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles:
