பின்பு அவர்கள் எருசலேமுக்குப் பயணமாகப் போகும்பொழுது, இயேசு அவர்களுக்கு முன்பே நடந்துபோனார்; அவர்கள் ஆச்சரியப்பட்டு, அவருக்குப் பின்னால் பயத்தோடு போனார்கள். அப்பொழுது அவர் பன்னிரண்டு சீடர்களையும் அழைத்து, தமக்கு நடக்கப்போகிறவைகளை அவர்களுக்கு மீண்டும் சொல்லத்தொடங்கினார்:

¶ And they were in the way going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus went before them: and they were amazed; and as they followed, they were afraid. And he took again the twelve, and began to tell them what things should happen unto him,
