എനിക്കു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം; പഴം പറിച്ച ശേഷമെന്നപോലെയും മുന്തിരിപ്പഴം പറിച്ചശേഷം കാലാ പെറുക്കുന്നതുപോലെയും ഞാൻ ആയല്ലോ! തിന്മാൻ ഒരു മുന്തിരിക്കുലയും ഇല്ല; ഞാൻ കൊതിക്കുന്ന അത്തിയുടെ തലപ്പഴവുമില്ല.

Woe is me! for I am as when they have gathered the summer fruits, as the grapegleanings of the vintage: there is no cluster to eat: my soul desired the firstripe fruit.
