మత్తయి రాసిన సువార్త 9:9

యేసు అక్కడనుంచి వెళ్తూ పన్ను వసూలు చేసే చోట కూర్చున్న మత్తయి అనే ఒకతన్ని చూశాడు. యేసు అతనితో, “నా వెంట రా!” అన్నాడు. అతడు లేచి ఆయనను అనుసరించాడు.

¶ And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him.
