అప్పుడు యోహాను శిష్యులు ఆయన దగ్గరికి వచ్చి, “పరిసయ్యులూ మేమూ తరచుగా ఉపవాసం ఉంటాము గానీ నీ శిష్యులు ఉపవాసం ఉండరెందుకు?” అని ఆయనను అడిగారు.

¶ Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, but thy disciples fast not?
