ત્યારે યોહાનના શિષ્યોએ તેમની પાસે આવીને કહ્યું કે “અમે તથા ફરોશીઓ ઘણીવાર ઉપવાસ કરીએ છીએ, પણ તમારા શિષ્યો ઉપવાસ કરતા નથી. એનું કારણ શું?”

¶ Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, but thy disciples fast not?
