ยิ่งกว่านั้นเมื่อท่านถืออดอาหาร อย่าทำหน้าเศร้าหมองเหมือนคนหน้าซื่อใจคด ด้วยเขาแสร้งทำหน้าให้​ผิดปกติ​ เพื่อจะให้คนเห็​นว​่าเขาถืออดอาหาร เราบอกความจริงแก่ท่านว่า เขาได้รับบำเหน็จของเขาแล้ว

¶ Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
