மத்தேயு 6:16

நீங்கள் உபவாசிக்கும்போது, மாயக்காரர்களைப்போல முகவாடலாக இராதேயுங்கள்; அவர்கள் உபவாசிக்கிறதை மனிதர்கள் பார்க்கும்படிக்கு, தங்களுடைய முகங்களை வாடச்செய்கிறார்கள்; அவர்கள் தங்களுடைய பலனை அடைந்து தீர்ந்ததென்று, உண்மையாகவே உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.

¶ Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
