આશરે ત્રણ કલાકે ઈસુએ ઊંચા અવાજે બૂમ પાડતાં કહ્યું કે, “એલી, એલી, લમા શબકથની?” એટલે, “ઓ મારા ઈશ્વર, મારા ઈશ્વર, તમે મને શા માટે છોડી દીધો?”
