కాబట్టి వినండి! నేను మీ దగ్గరికి ప్రవక్తలనూ, జ్ఞానులనూ, ధర్మశాస్త్ర పండితులనూ పంపుతున్నాను. మీరు వారిలో కొంతమందిని చంపుతారు. సిలువ వేస్తారు. కొంతమందిని మీ సమాజ కేంద్రాల్లో కొరడాలతో కొడతారు. మరి కొందరిని ఊరినుంచి ఊరికి తరిమి కొడతారు.

¶ Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:
