માથ્થી 23:23

ઓ શાસ્ત્રીઓ, ફરોશીઓ, ઢોંગીઓ, તમને અફસોસ છે! કેમ કે ફુદીનાનો, સૂવાનો તથા જીરાનો દસમો ભાગ તમે આપો છો; પણ નિયમશાસ્ત્રની અગત્યની વાતો, એટલે ન્યાય, દયા તથા વિશ્વાસ, તે તમે પડતાં મૂક્યાં છે; તમારે આ કરવાં, અને એની સાથે તે પણ પડતાં મૂકવા જોઈતાં ન હતાં.

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
