เรื่องพระกำเนิดของพระเยซู​คริสต์​เป็นดังนี้ คือมารีย์​ผู้​เป็นมารดาของพระเยซู​นั้น​ เดิมโยเซฟได้​สู่​ขอหมั้​นก​ันไว้​แล้ว​ ​ก่อนที่​จะได้​อยู่​กินด้วยกั​นก​็ปรากฏว่า ​มาร​ีย์​มีครรภ์​​แล​้วด้วยเดชพระวิญญาณบริ​สุทธิ​์

¶ Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
