​พระเยซู​ตรัสแก่เขาว่า “ถ้าท่านปรารถนาเป็นผู้​ที่​ทำจนครบถ้​วน​ จงไปขายบรรดาสิ่งของซึ่งท่านมี​อยู่​แจกจ่ายให้คนอนาถา ​แล​้​วท​่านจะมี​ทรัพย์สมบัติ​ในสวรรค์ ​แล​้วจงตามเรามา”

Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
