మత్తయి రాసిన సువార్త 19:9

భార్య వ్యభిచారం చేసిన కారణంగా కాక, ఎవరైనా తన భార్యను విడిచిపెట్టి మరొకరిని పెళ్ళిచేసుకుంటే అతడు వ్యభిచార పాపం చేస్తున్నాడు. అలాగే వేరొకడు విడిచిపెట్టిన స్త్రీని పెళ్ళి చేసికొనేవాడు వ్యభిచారం చేస్తున్నాడని మీతో చెబుతున్నాను” అని వారితో అన్నాడు.

And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.
