മത്തായി 19:9

ഞാനോ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നതു: പരസംഗം നിമിത്തമല്ലാതെ ഭാര്യയെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു മറ്റൊരുത്തിയെ വിവാഹം കഴിക്കുന്നവൻ വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യുന്നു; ഉപേക്ഷിക്കപ്പെട്ടവളെ വിവാഹം കഴിക്കുന്നവനും വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.
