மத்தேயு 18:9

உன் கண் உனக்கு இடறல் உண்டாக்கினால், அதைப் பிடுங்கி எறிந்துபோடு; இரண்டு கண்ணுடையவனாக எரிநரகத்தில் தள்ளப்படுவதைவிட, ஒற்றைக் கண்ணனாக நித்தியஜீவனுக்குள் பிரவேசிப்பது உனக்கு நலமாக இருக்கும்.

And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.
