Eftersom Edom [ättlingar till Esau; land i sydöst som ofta var fientliga mot Israel] säger: ”Vi har blivit nedslagna men vi ska återvända och bygga upp ruinerna”, så säger Härskarornas Herre (Jahveh Sebaot): De må bygga upp men jag river ner. De ska kallas för ett ont och ogudaktigt område, folket som Herren (Jahveh) fördömer för alltid (evigt).
