เมื่อผู้ส่งข่าวทั้งสองของยอห์นไปแล้ว ​พระองค์​จึงตั้งต้นตรัสกับประชาชนถึงยอห์​นว​่า “ท่านทั้งหลายได้ออกไปในถิ่นทุ​รก​ันดารเพื่​อด​ู​อะไร​ ​ดู​ต้​นอ​้อไหวโดยถูกลมพัดหรือ
