ภายหลังเหตุ​การณ์​​เหล่านี้​​พระองค์​​ได้​เสด็จออกไป และทอดพระเนตรเห็นคนเก็บภาษีคนหนึ่ง ชื่อเลวีนั่งอยู่​ที่​ด่านเก็บภาษี ​พระองค์​จึงตรัสกับเขาว่า “จงตามเรามาเถิด”

¶ And after these things he went forth, and saw a publican, named Levi, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he said unto him, Follow me.
