అయితే పేతురు లేచి, సమాధి దగ్గరికి పరుగెత్తుకుంటూ వెళ్ళాడు. అక్కడ సమాధిలోకి తొంగి చూశాడు. అక్కడ నారబట్టలు మాత్రం కనిపించాయి. అతడు జరిగిన దాన్ని గురించి ఆశ్చర్యపడుతూ ఇంటికి వెళ్ళిపోయాడు.

Then arose Peter, and ran unto the sepulchre; and stooping down, he beheld the linen clothes laid by themselves, and departed, wondering in himself at that which was come to pass.
