అప్పుడు యేసు పెద్ద స్వరంతో కేకవేసి, “తండ్రీ, నీ చేతికి నా ఆత్మను అప్పగిస్తున్నాను.” అన్నాడు. ఆయన ఈ విధంగా చెప్పి ప్రాణం విడిచాడు.
