ఆయన తమను ఉద్దేశించే ఈ ఉపమానం చెప్పాడని ప్రధాన యాజకులూ ధర్మశాస్త్ర పండితులూ గ్రహించి ఆయనను ఆ సమయంలోనే పట్టుకోవాలని చూశారు కానీ ప్రజలకు భయపడ్డారు.

¶ And the chief priests and the scribes the same hour sought to lay hands on him; and they feared the people: for they perceived that he had spoken this parable against them.
