కొందరు గలిలయ ప్రజలు ఆలయంలో బలులర్పిస్తుంటే పిలాతు తన సైనికులను పంపి వారిని క్రూరంగా చంపించాడు. కొద్ది కాలం క్రితమే జరిగిన ఈ సంగతిని కొందరు యేసుకు తెలియజేశారు.
