Leviticus 2:9

De priester moet het deel van het spijsoffer, dat voor reukoffer bestemd is, als een hefoffer aanbieden en het op het altaar als een welriekend vuuroffer voor Jahweh in rook doen opgaan.

And the priest shall take from the meat offering a memorial thereof, and shall burn it upon the altar: it is an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD.
