லேவியராகமம் 23:32

அது உங்களுக்கு விசேஷித்த ஓய்வுநாள்; அதில் உங்கள் ஆத்துமாக்களைத் தாழ்மைப்படுத்தவேண்டும்; அந்த மாதத்தின் ஒன்பதாம்தேதி மாலை துவக்கி, மறுநாள் மாலைவரை உங்கள் ஓய்வை அனுசரிப்பீர்களாக” என்றார்.

It shall be unto you a sabbath of rest, and ye shall afflict your souls: in the ninth day of the month at even, from even unto even, shall ye celebrate your sabbath.
