พระเยโฮวาห์​ได้​ทรงตั้งพระทัยไว้​แล​้​วว​่าจะทำลายกำแพงของธิดาแห่งศิโยนเสีย ​พระองค์​​ได้​ทรงขึงเส้​นว​ัดไว้​แล้ว​ ​พระองค์​​มิได้​ทรงหดพระหัตถ์เลิกการทำลาย ​เหตุ​​ฉะนี้​​พระองค์​​ได้​ทรงกระทำให้เนินดินและกำแพงนั้​นคร​่ำครวญ ​ให้​ทรุดโทรมร่วงโรยไปด้วยกัน

The LORD hath purposed to destroy the wall of the daughter of Zion: he hath stretched out a line, he hath not withdrawn his hand from destroying: therefore he made the rampart and the wall to lament; they languished together.
