યર્મિયાનો વિલાપ 2:16

તારા સર્વ શત્રુઓ તારા પર પોતાનું મુખ ઉઘાડીને હાંસી ઉડાવે છે. તેઓ તિરસ્કાર કરીને તથા દાંત પીસીને કહે છે, “અમે તેને ગળી ગયા છીએ! જે દિવસની અમે રાહ જોતા હતા તે ચોક્કસ આ જ છે! તે અમને પ્રાપ્ત થયો છે! અમે તેને જોયો છે!”

All thine enemies have opened their mouth against thee: they hiss and gnash the teeth: they say, We have swallowed her up: certainly this is the day that we looked for; we have found, we have seen it.
