രാത്രിയിൽ അവൾ കരഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; അവളുടെ കവിൾത്തടങ്ങളിൽ കണ്ണുനീർ കാണുന്നു; അവളുടെ സകലപ്രിയന്മാരിലും അവളെ ആശ്വസിപ്പിപ്പാൻ ആരുമില്ല; അവളുടെ സ്നേഹിതന്മാരൊക്കെയും അവൾക്കു ശത്രുക്കളായി ദ്രോഹം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

She weepeth sore in the night, and her tears are on her cheeks: among all her lovers she hath none to comfort her: all her friends have dealt treacherously with her, they are become her enemies.
